What It Is

Network two buildings without digging a trench.

Wireless bridges are not the same thing as standard indoor Wi-Fi. They are dedicated outdoor devices engineered to create a reliable data link between two points—or in some designs, one point to multiple endpoints—across a campus, parking lot, yard, road or separate building.

First question: Is there a clear line of sight between the two sites? For most building-bridge deployments, the answer needs to be yes. Trees, buildings and other obstructions can weaken or block the signal path.

Where It Fits

Common business use cases

When it works well: good line of sight, reasonable distance, clean mounting locations and a proper design on both ends of the link.

Design Perspective

Wireless bridge or fiber?

A wireless bridge can be an excellent solution, but it is not always the right solution. If the customer owns a path for conduit or already needs a long-term high-capacity backbone, fiber may still be the better permanent infrastructure. Best Networks can help compare the tradeoffs honestly.
